Make Ye Merry For Him That Is Come was commissioned by the London Co-operative Society Ltd in 1961, and dedicated to the British conductor and educator Graham Treacher (b. 1932). It is scored for Soprano,Alto,and Children’s Choruses, with optional Organ, and takes its text from an anonymous 15th century Christmas carol.

Thea Musgrave (b. 1928) is a Scottish-American composer. Over a career spanning more than 60years,she has established herself as one of the leading contemporary composers on both sides of the Atlantic.
