A cheerful march for concert band
Basic Sound
"A Good Start" is a march written by Luigi di Ghisallo. With small, surprising, almost humorous elements, the march really conveys the feeling of a "good start" - as if one were freshly and unbiasedly devoting oneself to a new thing and accepting small surprises with a smile. Especially beautiful is the play between high and low registers, which sometimes support each other with changing positions and sometimes seem to tease a bit.
BASIC SOUND From S to XXL - music for every wind orchestra line-up
With "Basic Sound", the music publisher RUNDEL has created a series that offers brass orchestras of the lower and middle school an interesting and varied repertoire - and that for the most varied instrumentation sizes, from S to XXL.
Due to the basic instrumentation (the "Basic Sound"), performances are possible even with minimal instrumentation. The "Basic Sound" instrumentation is immediately recognizable in the score, since the voices required in any case are clearly marked by a frame.
The smallest size (S) for "Basic Sound" consists of the following instruments: a flute, two clarinets, an alto saxophone, two trumpets, a trombone, a baritone/euphonium, a tuba and percussion. Each issue also contains an extensive voice set (XXL). Thus, the works of the "Basic Sound" series can be individually adapted to the respective orchestra instrumentation.
