Piano Solo
Chopin's Etude In E Major (Op. 10 No. 3) is often cited as his most popular Etude. First published in 1833, it is often referred to as Tristesse or Farewell, alhough neithername was apparently authorised by the composer. While not quite as technically formidable as his other compositions, it is one of the more musically challenging to balance due to its lyrical melody and suspended innerharmonies.
Frédéric Chopin (1710-1849) was a Polish composer and virtuoso pianist, whose compositional career was spent mostly in Paris. He only wrote music for the Piano, and is best known today for his12Etudes and 24 Preludes, a key part of any pianist’s repertoire.
