(1861-1948) was a highly regarded musician and pedagogue. Born in Leipzig, he studied at the conservatory there, before touring all across Europe, Russia, and the United States as a virtuosoconcert violinist. In 1896 he settled in London, taking up a role as Professor of Violin at the London Guildhall School of Music.
