"Utopie und Idylle" presents a diverse panorama of the royal residence of Ludwigslust in Mecklenburg. Various perspectives on the musical life of the court are a particular focus: sacred and secular and private and public music-making are examined. This interdisciplinary volume also includes detailed studies of subjects such as garden design in the palace park, aspects of urban design, the teacher-training seminary in Ludwigslust and the library of the Duchess Luise Friederike.
