I didn't actually compose the head theme in this piece myself, that was my daughter Olivia. In a very dreamy moment, she sang the little melody that sounds in the clarinets right at the beginning. This little melody fascinated me so much through its essence, which arose in childlike dreaminess, that I absolutely had to adopt it for my piece and so I developed the individual movements from it.
