To celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Ons Genoegen fanfare band from Wijdenes, composer Eric Swiggers wrote the festive piece Sparkling Pleasure. The title playfully refers to the band’s name and the musical joy it has brought for over a century.

This two-part composition opens with a vibrant, energetic fanfare, followed by a tender Andante that offers space for reflection and emotion. The music captures the band’s rich history and its deep connection to the local community.
