For the time being, 1869 brought Josef Strauss the great success of the waltz "Aquarellen". But already on 7 February of the same year he outdid himself with the waltz "Mein Lebenslauf ist Lieb und Lust", which was premiered at the students' ball in the Redoutensaal on that day.
