Fair Field Festival begins with a brass fanfare and embellished woodwind figures. A magnificent chorale leads to a lively Allegro vivo, in the center of which a majestic horn and euphonium melody can be heard under lively woodwinds. A second theme is first played by the trumpets, then leads to a central legato theme in the horns and saxophones and is finally repeated by the trumpets.
