Ottorino Respighi's masterpiece from 1924 consists of four contrasting movements. The last movement, "The Pines of Via Appia", describes the march of a Roman legion gradually approaching. It is one of the most famous and breathtaking orchestral crescendos in all of classical music and is perfectly arranged here for young wind orchestra by Michael Story!
