The present edition comprises an arrangement of the familiar keyboard variations on the French song "Ah! vous dirai-je, Maman" (better known to the English-speaking world as "Twinkle, twinkle, little star"), which Mozart composed during a concert tour in Paris in 1778 as "Ariette avec variations pour le clavecin ou Piano-Forte".
