“Haffner”
The Haffner Symphony, composed in 1782, was commissioned by the young Sigmund II of the prestigious Haffner family of Salzburg on the occasion of his investiture of the title. It is said to be one of the three great symphonies of Mozart's mature period, following No. 36 Linz'' and No. 38
Prague.'' The newly renewed diatonic score was created by proofreading Mozart's autograph scores, old and new editions of his complete works, and as many other materials as possible. Includes commentary centering on song analysis by composer Saburo Moroi.
