In 1771, Mozart, then only fifteen years old, composed his first Divertimento, K.113. Over the course of his life, from about 1771 to 1779, Mozart wrote 23 Divertimenti for various ensembles ranging from six to more performers: for strings alone, winds alone, winds and strings, and winds with timpani.
