Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy enriched the repertoire for violin with one of the most significant works of the 19th century, his Violin Concerto in E minor op. 64 MWV O 14. He also completed three sonatas for violin and piano, in which the violin part is set technically and tonally demanding, yet rewarding to play.
