This work was written for the 30th anniversary performance of the Zen-On Contemporary Music Series "The Quartet and Their Friends," titled "The Quartet x Tokyo Sinfonietta," and premiered with Yasuaki Itakura conducting and playing the clarinet. The clarinet's wide range, beautiful square wave timbre, and outstanding agility are impressively utilized.
