Impetus represents both the character of this work and the state of mind of the Ensemble Musical de Maillé, which commissioned it. The Ensemble’s two conductors, Victorien Garreau and Grégoire Tapin, asked composer Thierry Deleruyelle to write an original work to mark the 115th anniversary of their orchestra.
