This work describes the royal history of the Spanish village of Artajona and the Kingdom of Navarre. The music varies from majestic to fast and lively. One hears bells, a Gregorian theme, is transported to the Middle Ages in a quieter passage and hears echoes of the Hymn of Navarre. The composition closes with the bells of Artajona: a fitting and beautiful conclusion.
