Jean-Baptiste Bréval wrote three series of six sonatas for cello and basso (opp. 12, 28 & 40). Even with the fast diffusion of keyboard instruments, he never created a version of them for cello with keyboard accompaniment.
Especially at the end of the XIX century, several cellists decided to arrange many of them for cello and piano, often heavily altering the cello part as well.
