Edwin Eugene (E.E.) Bagley's "National Emblem" is, alongside Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever," one of the most famous and well-known American marches.

Bagley composed the march during a train tour with his band, the Wheeler's Band, in 1902. Not entirely satisfied with the ending, he tossed the composition in a bin.
