Bach composed the cantata Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch (Truly, truly I say to you), BWV 86, for Rogation Sunday in 1724. In many respects it is a companion piece to the cantata Wo gehest du hin (Oh, where do you go?), BWV 166, performed the previous Sunday.
